Read the entire Psalm.

1. As David begins the last of his songs, what does he commit to do in verses 1-2?

2. What are the two time references in these verses and what does that communicate about David’s commitment?

3. Verse 3 gives the reason for his commitment to extol and praise. What is the reason given?

4. Depending on the translation of verse 3, the Lord’s greatness is said to be unmeasurable or unsearchable. How would you express that thought to someone?

5. As David continues, he gives specific reasons for God’s praise-worthiness. List some reasons given in verses 4-9.

6. From verse 4, what is a specific target for telling about God’s mighty works? In what ways have you been able to do that?

7. According to verse 10, what will all of God’s works and His followers (the godly) do?

8. What are some of the specifics about God they will speak of according to verses 11-13? (Note: some Bible translations do not include a third sentence in verse 13.)

9. According to verse 14, who are the benefactors of the Lord’s help?

10. What are some ways He helps us according to verses 15-16?

11. What are the benefits of those who call on the Lord, fear Him, and love Him, according to verses 18-20?

12. What about your life demonstrates that you fear and love the Lord?

13. What is the fate of the wicked according to verse 20b?

14. David begins the Psalm by committing to bless God’s name forever and ever. As he ends in verse 21, who is it who will bless God’s Holy name forever and ever?

15. Read Philippians 2:9-11 and Revelation 5:13 to put this into greater focus. How does the thought of an eternity of praise encourage you today?
